2006
We powered one of the very first hydrogen electric flights in the world, taking off in a California desert not too far from Los Angeles back in 2006. The same teams involved in the design of the aircraft then set a world distance record in 2007
2007
One year later, we put together a first high-performance 1kW fuel cell system that was developed to fit a jet-wing configuration capable of flying 200km/h. This video came out showing the flight in the Swiss Alps, led by a consortium team under a DLR program.
2012
Powering an aircraft could soon be a sustainable endeavor. Fuel cell technologies explored by Boeing use a fusion of hydrogen and oxygen to help power electric aircraft.
